BUSINESS INNOVATION FOCUSSED ON EXPERIENCE-BASED PRODUCTS/SERVICES 2014
The intensive course Business Innovation Focussed on Experience-based Products/Services was organized in Tampere/Virrat, Finland in September 2014. More than 30 participants from five countries representing five partner institutions joined 13.-19.9.2014 the intensive course, coordinated by Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). The coordinator of the intensive course was Ms. Pirkko Varis from TAMK.
On Saturday a welcome evening was organized. On Sunday an orientation to Tampere, the Tampere region, Finnish culture and the visit to the harbour and ships of Suomen Hopealinja Oy (Finnish Silverline Ltd.) were organised and participants had a view on the island Viikinsaari, too. On Sunday teambuilding activities took place and all travelled to Virrat where the programme was orgnised in the next days. On Monday all country-based student teams gave presentations on their countries, cities, universities and study programmes. The introduction to the assignment from Suomen Hopealinja Oy (Finnish Silverline Ltd.) was given on Monday, too. The programme also included a lecture on "Get the message across", to be followed by ideation process and sessions. On Tuesday and Wednesday multicultural student teams did innovations of events and services for various customer groups. They also gave suggestions for marketing communications mix. On Thursday afternoon all student teams presented their innovations in front of the audience consisting of students and staff members. In the jury there was also a representative from the company. All teams did great work and the winning team was announced on Thursday evening in the closing ceremony. On Friday some discussions, reports and other work were done and all travelled back home. In Virrat all lived in Lomasaari houses by a lake. All transportations were done with the coaches of the company Ykspetäjä Oy, Lepikonmäki-yhtiöt.
